Scan-to-Email Fix

Has your scan-to-email function stopped working recently?  Most likely this is due to Google no longer supporting the ‘less secure apps’ setting for Gmail accounts:

The workaround is to first turn on 2-step verification for the authentication account:

Then create an app password:
https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833.

You’ll need to enter the app password you create as the authentication account for each of your copiers using the steps below:

  • Log in to the remote UI by entering the copier’s IP address in the address bar of your browser
  • The default ID / PIN is 7654321 / 7654321
  • Click Settings/Registration
  • Click Send
  • Click Network Settings – E-mail/I-fax
  • Click Change Password next to SMTP Authentication
  • Enter the app password in both fields
  • Click OK
